infoAbout Richmond ToolBank
Richmond ToolBank lends tools and equipment to community-based organizations from its warehouse at 1407 Cummings Drive in Richmond, Virginia. Who Can Borrow
Only not-for-profit organizations are currently eligible for membership: nonprofit, charitable and tax-exempt organizations, schools and PTAs/PTOs, neighborhood associations, faith-based groups, civic organizations and government agencies. Membership is free to apply for, and complete applications are usually approved in less than 24 hours.
Borrowing
Members pay a tool handling fee of 6% of the retail value of each tool per week, invoiced after the tools come back, and tools may be borrowed for up to 8 weeks. Requests should go in ideally 5 business days ahead; rush fees of $25 to $75 apply to shorter notice. Orders are confirmed once pickup and return appointments are booked. Late returns accrue 12% of the tools' retail value per week, and a $35 cleaning fee per tool may apply. Orders can be picked up at the warehouse or the Southside hub at Broad Rock Sports Complex, or delivered in a SmartBox for $125 per box.
